About Mondays of Thunder
Owner and Commissioner Jes Hanna created Mondays of Thunder in early 2020 for the single purpose of having fun! We run a beginners to everyone racing league for Nascar Racing 2003 Season with 3 series for people to choose from! On Sunday nights, we race the Truck Series with the CWS15 mod. Monday nights, is the big show! Our Cup Series is raced with the Next Gen22 cup and cts physics mod and is our premier series where the best of the best race! After the Cup race is finished on Mondays we have our most recently formed series The Dash Series using the NXS 20 cts mod which is used as a tester series for any improvements we may like to add in the future for our main series. The Dash series is specifically designed for new and beginner drivers as all drivers are welcome, but past MoT champions face multiple disadvantages (cant qualify, -2 laps down, etc) to try and slow them down. Don't be intimidated if you're still a beginner. Our drivers are always eager to help with driving techniques to help you improve your race craft or even simple questions about the game!
If you're interested in joining our league please make sure you first read up on all of rules below. Once you've read the rules or if you have any general questions, please make your way over to the Registration/Contact Us page and well get back to you shortly!

Mondays of Thunder Rule Book:
At Mondays of Thunder we like to have a lot of fun while we race. Drivers need to remember that this is only a game after all. While we can hand out penalties for reckless driving, we would prefer to deal with issues before they become more serious on or off the track. One of the most important rules here is sportsmanship. If winning at any cost is the most important thing for you, then this may not be the right league for you. However if you enjoy racing fairly, painting new cars, or even make some new friends. Then you've come to the right place! Please take a minute or two to read up on some of our core rules before you race with us.
1. Communication - All drivers MUST be on our Teamspeak server for all sessions of the race. Voice communication is an important tool for drivers to use during the race to relay information to other drivers. The in-game chat will also be used as a secondary option for drivers to communicate with each other during the race.
2. A) 3 Incidents - While we understand wrecking is part of the sport sometimes, causing incidents involving other cars will result in a warning for each instance. Self spins will no longer be counted as an incident as long as you do not contact another car, however if you are having trouble controlling your car it might be a good sign to use driving aids. You are required to call out each incident you cause on Teamspeak, or through in-game chat. On your 3rd incident, you will be required to pull into the pits and retire from the race. If you are found to have caused 3 incidents after the race and you did not retire, you will be suspended for the following race. If you are involved in an incident and you are unsure of who caused it just take the incident as your own. Incidents do not have to bring out a yellow to be considered an incident as incidents racing back in the 5 lap grace periods also will count. The admins will have final say on these matters with no exceptions.
-DRIVERS WILL BE SUBJECT TO A 2 AND PARK RULE AT TRACKS DEEMED AN SS
2. B) Causing An Incident - If a driver causes a caution. They will be required claim the incident by communicating over Teamspeak or in-game chat, then go to the rear of the field by getting an end of the longest line (EOLL) penalty during that caution period by speeding down pit road. If you are involved in an incident and you are unsure if you caused it or not, err on the side of caution and take the penalty. If a driver is found post race to not have claimed their incident, the driver will receive a 1 lap penalty on the final race results and be place at the tail end of said lap with a warning from the admins. Further action will be taken if found guilty on multiple occasions.
2. C) PLOWING INTO WRECKS.
THIS IS A NEW RULE FOR US BUT ONE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. IF A WRECK HAPPENS AND SOMEONE BARRELLS INTO THAT WRECK THAT THEY WERENT EVEN ORIGINALLY INVOLVED IN AND SHOWING NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN OR AVOIDANCE WILL BE PENALISED. DEPENDING ON HOW EGREGIOUS WE VIEW THE INCIDENT YOU MIGHT BE KICKED FROM THE SERVER DURING THE RACE. WE HAD MULTIPLE WRECKS LAST SEASON WHERE THIS HAPPENED AND GUYS WHO SHOULDVE ESCAPED WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE HAD THEIR CARS DESTROYED BY DRIVERS JUST PLOWING INTO A WRECK. IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE THIS SEASON.
3. Race Requirements - Drivers will be required to race with either a game pad or racing wheel. A keyboard is not an acceptable device to race with.
4. Downloads - All drivers are required to download other members cars/trucks on our google drive before practice starts. As well as the track packs for each series on the downloads page.
5. Age requirements- None.
6. Harassment - Mondays of Thunder has a NO HARASSMENT policy. No yelling at other players, no cursing at other players. Player ejections and park decisions will be made by the league moderator - Jes Hanna. This is a fun league and all drivers will show respect for everyone else. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS! Offending players will be given 2 warnings. At the 3rd violation, player will be suspended 2 races. If player violates after suspension, they will be banned for the rest of the season. That driver will also be reviewed in the off-season to determine if they may rejoin.
7. Intentional wrecking - drivers will not intentionally wreck other drivers to gain position, retaliate or for any other reason. We understand mistakes happen and the replay will be reviewed following the conclusion of the race. If it is decided that a driver was intentionally wrecked, 10 driver points will be deducted and a warning issued. If a second violation occurs during the season, the driver will lose 30 driver points and will be suspended 1 race. If a 3rd violation occurs, the driver will lose all current points and will be suspended for the rest of the season. That driver will also be reviewed in the off-season to determine if they may rejoin. If the wreck is deemed egregious then the driver could be facing level 2 penalty for first violation.
8. Do not challenge people to wreck you, and do not accept the challenge!
9. A) Starts/Restarts - Coming to the restart, the leader should maintain pace speed up until the green flag is waved (within a 5mph window to be fair). The field should be sorted in a safe, but close margin to the car in front of them. Laying back or jumping the start to gain an advantage will not be allowed. All drivers must maintain the pace car speed until the green flag is shown during starts/restarts. You are not allowed to pass or attempt to pass, and your car must remain in line before the start/finish line. If anyone is caught stacking the field or jumping the green, a single warning will be issued per race. If it is not caught during the race but found on replay a driver still will be subject to penalty. If more than one occurrence happens, the replay will be reviewed and if found guilty that driver will lose 10 points PER instance after the initial warning. If a driver is going faster than pace speed to catch up, scatter your line incase you are unable to brake properly. DRIVERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PULL OUT OF LINE TO PASS BEFORE THE LINE ON RESTARTS. SO JUST TO BE CLEAR NOT ALLOWED TO PASS AND NOT ALLOWED TO PULL OUT OF LINE. IF A SITUATION OCCURS WHERE A DRIVER PULLS OUT OF LINE TO AVOID A WRECK AND PASSES THE CAR IN FRONT OF THEM THEN THE SPOT WILL NEEDED TO BE GIVEN BACK TO AVOID A PENALTY. IF A DRIVER PASSES LOW AND RECIEVES AN IN GAME BLACK FLAG FOR ANY REASON THAT PENALTY WILL NEED TO BE SERVED. DRIVERS NEED TO SORT THEMSELVES .1 TO .2 BEHIND THE CAR IN FRONT OF THEM TO ALLOW FOR CLEANER RESTARTS AS YOU WILL NOT WIN THE RACE BEING BUMPER TO BUMPER WITH OTHER DRIVERS ON RESTARTS.
9. B) Restart Exception - DRIVERS WHO ARE OFF THE PACE CAN ALLOW DRIVERS TO PASS THEM HIGH ON THE RESTART, BUT NEED TO ANNOUNCE IT BEFORE THE RESTART AND MOVE LOW ON THE TRACK.
9. C) Choose cone restarts- Coming to 1 to go before green flag drivers will have Choose cone restarts. Drivers will need to pick whether they want to start in high line or low line by choosing a line at the cone. Drivers need to give each other room to choose so there is no incidents or running over the choose cone/line.
10. A) Lapped cars - Drivers who find themselves one or more laps down will respect lead lap cars and give them space. Lapped cars are allowed to race lead lap cars in a respectful manner or let them pass at their discretion. An exception to this rule is if a car is damaged and noticeably off pace, in which case the driver must make an obvious attempt to allow lead lap cars to pass.
10. B) 10 Lap rule - When there is 10 laps to go in a race ALL lapped cars must give way to lead lap cars and let them race without interference. There is no exceptions to this rule. If under the yellow flag all lapped cars must drive down pit road on the second caution lap to allow the lead lap cars to go ahead. The driver is not required to stop in their pit stall, but may do so if they please. A simple drive through will suffice.
11. Chatter - While talking and friendly conversation is encouraged. Please keep talking to a minimum during the race. There has been a lot of voice collision and the moderator cannot hear if someone needs a black flag cleared or any else. Mute your mic if you don't need to talk or use the 'push to talk' function. All mics should be muted and no talking AT ALL will be permitted during the qualifying session. Just because you're done early, that does not mean everyone else is too. This is very important and will be issuing out warnings every time this is not followed. 3 warnings and that driver will park for 1 race.
12. 1) Pit Road rules-a)Entrance- To avoid unnecessary collisions on pit road we have added some rules. Upon entering pit road please stay in the far right line, when you are close to your pit then please move into the left lane and then to your stall. if you are pitting close to the entrance of pit road you may use the left lane. If you are pitting towards pit road exit please stay in the right lane as long as possible.
b)Exit- Upon exiting pits drivers in their stalls must make sure it is clear from other drivers entering before leaving their stall. Please move back to the far right lane when possible upon exit. There will be no additional penalties for these rules but we would like this to be the standard procedure for pit road entering and exiting. Just remember though that if you do cause a wreck on pit road it is still counted as an incident.
12. A) Yellow Flags - Upon your spotter announcing there is a caution or yellow flag ALL DRIVERS MUST LET UP AND NOT RACE BACK TO THE LINE. Despite what the spotter says do not race back to the line. The field will be frozen at the time of yellow, with the exception of any cars involved in an incident and/or is not maintaining a minimum speed. If anything is brought up regarding a driver being passed under yellow flag conditions, the replay will be reviewed and if it's determined a driver did not let up they will be disqualified and finish last place.
B. WE WILL THROW THE YELLOW FLAG WHEN THERE IS AN INCIDENT INVOLVING 2 OR MORE DRIVERS WRECKING, YELLOWS WILL NOT BE THROWN FOR SELF SPIN INCIDENTS. THERE WILL BE NO YELLOW FLAGS THROWN IN THE LAST 5 LAPS OF STAGES OR WITH 5 LAPS LEFT IN THE RACE.
C. WHILE UNDER YELLOW IF YOU CAUSE A WRECK YOU WILL BE COUNTED WITH AN INCIDENT AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE AN EOLL.
THESE WILL BE THE STANDARD RULES FOR MOST RACES BUT SOME RACES WILL HAVE DIFFERENT RULES AND WE WILL NOTIFY AHEAD OF TIME WHAT THEY WILL BE.
12. B) Lapped Cars - Lap down cars need to line up behind lead lap cars in the running order on restarts. Lapped cars need to go down pit road second time by to allow lead lap cars through. If lead lap cars pit after the first lap and end up behind lapped cars that’s how they will restart.
12. C) 5 Lap Rule -IF THERE IS AN INCIDENT BETWEEN DRIVERS WITH 5 OR LESS LAPS TO GO CAUSING A DRIVER TO WRECK THE DRIVER THAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT CAN BE PENALISED AND RECEIVE A POST RACE EOLL IF ADMINS DEEM IT NECESSARY. ALL OTHER INCIDENTS THAT MAY HAPPEN AT THE END OF THE RACE THAT DON’T TECHNICALLY CAUSE A DRIVER TO WRECK IN A MULTI CAR INCIDENT WILL BE REVIEWED BY ADMINS AND IT WILL BE DECIDED WHAT WILL HAPPEN BASED ON HOW INTENTIONAL THE INCIDENT WAS.
12. D) Incidents occuring on the last lap will be reviewed on a case by case basis to determine result.
13. Restrictor Plate Tracks Only - There will be no passing below the yellow or white line, unless it's to avoid an accident. If a driver passes under the line and gives the position back immediately, there will be no penalty. If the driver is caught passing under the line with 2 tires fully under the line during the race and does not give the position back, they will receive a black flag that must be served within 3 laps to clear the penalty. However, if found guilty of passing under the line after the race is complete the driver will be penalized by being placed as the last car on their last completed lap.
14. Race Restarts Grace Period - If there is a wreck involving 2 or more cars within the first lap of the race, the race will be restarted up to 3 times. All qualifying positions will remain the same. After failed restart number 2 we will start the race single file. Further restarts will be at admins discretion if there is a large wreck that would ruin the race immediately.
15. Provisionals - Once the driver makes their first start in the season, provisionals will automatically be applied for any missed races afterwards. A provisional will give the driver 3 points regardless of how many drivers start. A maximum of 3 provisionals can be used for each driver per season, per series.
16. Disconnecting and Reconnecting - Once a player logs into the server in the game after qualifying they must remain in the server until the conclusion of the race. There will be a low tolerance for disconnecting and reconnecting from the server without a valid reason behind it. An admin will determine if the reason is valid and if not the driver will be asked to sit the race out.
17. Cheating - No cheating. Period. There is a zero tolerance policy for anyone who is caught cheating. We are all here to have fun and enjoy racing together. Nothing is so important that you need to find a loophole and cheat during one of our races. Whoever is found cheating or using any type of hacks for the game, can be permanently banned from our league.
18. Connection Issues - While we understand sometimes people may have issues with their internet from time to time. We do require that you have a wired connection while racing. If you are requested by an admin to drop to the back of the field because of connection issues (i.e. warping or blinking) and do not, a black flag will be issued. If you are asked to park because of connection issues and refuse, you will be ejected from the race and will be talked to afterwards by an admin. DRIVERS THAT UNEXPECTEDLY DISCONNECT WILL BE ALLOWED TO REJOIN THE SERVER. THE FIRST AND SECOND DC THE DRIVER WILL RECEIVE ALL LAPS BACK FROM WHERE THEY WERE SCORED PRIOR TO THE DC. AFTER THE 3RD DC DRIVERS WILL NOT BE GIVEN ANY LAPS BACK. AFTER 3 DCS ADMINS WILL DETERMINE IF A DRIVER SHOULD KEEP TRYING TO RE JOIN.
19. Replays - Replays should be saved if a driver wins the pole and/or finishes in the top 3 in a race. You are required to keep any saved replays for one WEEK after that race. Although an Admin may not always ask for your replay, we reserve the right to request your replay without question if we require it. You will have up to 24 hours to produce your replay for the requested race. If you cannot produce the replay, it will be assumed that the driver is possibly hiding something or exploiting the game and MAY be disqualified from that race. Warnings may be issued on first instance but you should do your best to remember to save it.
20. Protests - If a driver has a protest about an incident, they will be required to provide a replay (if requested) with details on what they are protesting. If a replay is required by the Admin and the protesting driver cannot produce a replay, the protest will be disregarded.
21. Blocking - While blocking is allowed, aggressive driving is not. If someone is seen blocking excessively throughout a race they will be given a verbal warning to tone it down. Continuing to block excessively will result in a black flag that must be served under green.
22. Start and Parks - In order for a driver to officially record a start they must complete 50% or more of that race. This would only matter if the driver wishes to qualify for the playoffs (Our registration email code is: nascar). Exceptions to this rule is if the driver is involved in an accident and the car is not repairable or if the car suffers a random mechanical failure of some kind.
23. Probation for new and existing drivers- All new drivers to Mondays of Thunder are subject to a probationary period. This will mean the driver is required to demonstrate to the admins that they understand the rules of the league and act appropriately. The probation period will last 1 season.
DRIVERS WITH LESS THEN A FULL SEASON OF EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED UNDER PROBATION FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON. THIS WILL MEAN MULTIPLE THINGS
-New drivers will still be able to 3 and park but will be reviewed weekly to see how many incidents theyll be allowed each race.
- New drivers that are having trouble staying clean and causing incidents will be moved to 2 and park, then 1 and park until they can show they can drive clean.
-Existing drivers can also be placed under a probationary period at the admins request if the driver starts demonstrating excessive rule breaking.
-The more incidents you cause weekly the harsher the penalties will become going forward.
24. A) Lucky Dog - Once the yellow flag comes out the first driver not on the lead lap will be the ‘Lucky dog’. The driver deemed as the recipient will be called out on the chat or on Teamspeak by an admin. The driver will then pit on the second caution lap (first lap on road courses) with the rest of the lapped cars, and receive an end of the longest line penalty (EOLL) by either speeding down pit road or merging unsafely when exiting the pits. Once the driver has received an end of the longest line penalty from the game, the admin will give the driver one of their laps back once the race goes back to green.
24. B) Waive Around - If a driver is 1 or more laps down they can get the opportunity to get a lap back by taking a waive around under yellow. To be eligible to receive it, the lead lap cars ahead of that driver in line need to pit. Once this happens the driver can announce they want the waive around. This will function the same way as the lucky dog rule only the driver will not be able to take pit service during that caution period.
25. CORE.
DRIVERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO USE THE CORE WE CHOOSE FOR EVERY RACE THIS SEASON. PENALTIES WILL BE ISSUED TO DRIVERS WE DETERMINE ARENT USING THE CORRECT CORE.INI FILE.
26. ABANDONMENT OF POLICY- IN THE EVENT OF A UNUSUAL SITUATION ARISING NEEDING FURTHER ADMIN RULING, WE WILL INSTITUTE THIS RULE. IT IS MEANT TO HELP KEEP THE RACE ON TRACK, GET THE RACE BACK ON TRACK OR WHATEVER IS NECESSARY BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE RACE.
Points System
|
We use a stage system similar to what NASCAR uses in order to level the playing field a little bit and integrate some pit strategy. Stage points will be handed out for the top 5 for stage 1 and 2 followed by our usual points system for the final finishing position. The stages will roughly be broken down by percentage of laps for that race: S1-25%, S2-25%, S3-50%.
*Any ties in regular season points will be settled as NASCAR does. The most 1st place finishes, 2nd place finishes, 3rd place finishes, etc. This will be reset for the 3 playoff races to determine who will advance. |
Playoff Format
Once the final regular season race is completed the playoffs will begin. All drivers who do not qualify for the playoffs will still be able to race for the remainder of the season. Playoff drivers will have their points set to 3000. 10 playoff points will be given to the driver who finishes the regular season in 1st in points, 5 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, and 1 for 5th. 3 playoff points will be rewarded to playoff drivers for every win they have in the regular season. Any playoff drivers who win races 11, 12, or 13 will automatically qualify for the final championship race. The top 4 playoff drivers after the 13th race will have their points set to 700 for the championship race. The championship race will have the top 4 drivers compete for the championship; no bonus points will count towards final standings. The highest race finisher will be awarded the season championship!
